Mia's First Haircut

Today I finally bit the bullet & took Mia to The Hair Cuttery for her first haircut. As we all know, Mia's hair is a bit on the wild side & fear of walking away from the salon with a short, cropped shag is what has kept her hair in its untouched state for over two years. The hairdresser did an awesome job and took off about 2" from the back, leaving the top & sides untouched. Mia was very patient, waiting about 40 minutes for her turn in the "special chair" and then another 10 minutes during the cut. She was very excited about the cape they gave her to wear, calling it a "pretty dress" the whole time she wore it. And, to top it all off, her hairdresser offered her a lollipop at the end--something I had planned on doing myself! Mia had a really good time.
Admiring the "pretty dress"
Deciding how much to cut off....
Maybe a little more in the back?
Finishing Touches
AND FINALLY....

Cut: $10
Tip: $2
"First Haircut Certificate" from The Hair Cuttery: Priceless

"This is to certify that Mia Hawkins has bravely met all of the requirement of receiving her first haircut and has graduated from babyhood on May 5, 2005."
